Autocomplete suggestion popup does not appear #1

According to the example, if I type 'Bed' into the first list item, the popup with suggestions should appear, but it's not. Should it?

Could you please attach a screenshot of working popup?
I'm using Xamarin's Android Player with Android 4.4.

One thing I have discovered is that if you rotate the screen while the suggestion list is popped up, the autocomplete quits working for that box. That is an issue with MvvmCross and not much I can do about it. Sorry...
