Texture Warping/Distortion when looking around after applying the patch. #20
Comments
just for clarification as the video is somewhat lengthy. Is it the leverat 9:20 you are on about as an example? |
Oh sorry, I accidentally linked the wrong video. Corrected in the link now, it is a short 50 second clip. |
thanks for the video. would you be able to record and link to one showing the same textures in the unpatched game, to compare and see the difference easily? |
Unpatched by replacing with original dosboxULTIMA1_single.conf. On second look, maybe I am wrong and there's no issue? |
my guess would be that the original game's texture mapping was a little screwy, but it was unnoticeable because without mouse look you could only look in a much more restricted range of vertical angle and also you could pitch the view up or down only in discrete steps by keyboard press. |
That might be it yep, thanks for taking your time to look into this. And if an enhancement about it is possible then it'll be pretty cool too! |
Hello, transferring this here from Youtube. I've noticed that there's more visible texture warping after installing this patch, some objects are the lever that unlocks the door near the beginning almost appear as if it was floating on top of a distorted wall.
I was wondering if this is just simply due to engine limitations not being able to handle mouselook, or if it is some bug.
I've attached a video, as screenshots don't exactly capture this properly: https://youtu.be/653N0ox4GEE
