I'd like to fix this @Joshua-Riek. Any idea of where I should start? Do you think it might be parameters used to compile the kernel? |
I am using an Orange Pi 5 Pro with an HDMI 2.1 cable connected to my TV. I have installed Ubuntu 24.04 and have all packages updated via apt (not sure if this is a mistake).
When the Orange Pi is off, my soundbar (connected via the HDMI ARC port) will not work with the TV. Normally, the soundbar and TV work perfectly together - i.e. TV turns on, soundbar turns on. With the Orange Pi connected and powered off, the TV does not turn the sound bar on and when I turn the soundbar on, the TV does not recognise it and doesn’t output sound through it. I need to either have my Orange Pi on and turn on the soundbar manually or disconnect the HDMI when it is off. Seems really weird that it would cause HDMI CEC issues like this.
Note that I have tried multiple cables (all HDMI 2.1). I have also fiddled around with my TV’s HDMI CEC settings and it makes no difference. The Orange Pi works perfectly with the TV and soundbar when powered on.
By the way @Joshua-Riek, love your work maintaining this project. This is leagues better than the officially provided images.
