Improve onboarding of contributors and maintenance of this project

Description

I've started with improving the onboarding of new contributors in ticket #142. This got me thinking what else we could do to be more open for new contributors. I'm also looking for new automations to make this project more self-managed.

• Giving credit to people is important to make sure they feel appreciated and stay motivated. Since GitHub only marks users as contributors when they commit something. Contributions in other forms than code are therefore not recognised. There is a tool available for this called https://probot.github.io/apps/allcontributors/.
