Bad example sentence for the entry ϣϥ #214
Comments
@dwerning - looking at Crum, I think this is supposed to have the form ⲱϥ with an omega, but is mistakenly digitized with shai in the lemma list, which leads to this error in the entry here. Would you be able to correct the underlying data? I can do it temporarily in CDO until the next import and remove the faulty examples. |
That wouldn't explain the first example, "ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲙⲁⲙⲁⲁⲧ", which doesn't contain either "ϣϥ" or "ⲱϥ". |
I don't see that example in that entry (although the examples I see are also wrong; but they contain the string ϣϥ). Can you paste a screenshot of what you are seeing, incl. the URL and the image of that example under the heading for C5628? |
Huh, that's odd, I don't see it anymore either. I suppose it was a one-time bug? |
Not sure what might have caused that. But in any case, if @dwerning or @simondschweitzer have comments about repairing the XML, please let me know. For now I've repaired the entry in the live CDO interface to have the omega instead of the shai, and deleted the examples since we don't have any correct ones at the moment. I'll leave the issue open until the XML issue is resolved as well. |
Hi. The entry C5628 is, as of november 2024, still spelled with shai instead of omega. If you search for ⲱϥ there's no results. |
Thanks - this is patched in CDO as of now, but @simondschweitzer please check that CCL is updated as well |

Notes:
As far as I can tell from the English translations, none of these examples are referring to "lettuce", which is what the dictionary says "ϣϥ" means.
Better examples:
Unfortunately I do not know any other examples.
