DataStore2() API call expected {string dataStoreName, Instance player}, got {string, nil} #197

When using DataStore2 I get the error above saying that the call expected a player Instance and got nil instead. I'm certain I entered a player Instance into the call so I'm very confused to why I'm getting this error. Is it a bug? Alot of people are also having this same problem.
