The watch for Tesla app on my phone is working great and contains my cars, however, the watch app shows me the status of a 2020 model 3 … I probably could travel to the car and take it. In the watch app, I cannot chose any of my two cars.

Hey,

What you're seeing is sample data - it is my old car, a 2020 Model 3 with VIN obfuscated and ending in XXXXX. Commands are not going to the actual vehicle - no worries.

There is a bug somewhere, that surfaces this sample data - which is supposed to only be used during app review, as I can't grant full control of my actual vehicle to Apples review team.

In the other cases where this has happened, a log out, and login has fixed the problem. Possibly restart the watch if the problem persists.

Please let me know if that solved the issue - and thank you for reporting this!

Cheers,

Kim

Well, I have both removed and installed the app on the watch, uninstalled it from my phone, and booted my watch. Nothing helps

That is super weird. On your phone, please open the app, tap settings, tap logout, then log back in, then tap settings again, then show logs and then email logs and send them to me. I'll see what I can spot.

Hey,

I managed to track down the bug and fix it - you can verify by joining the current TestFlight here:

https://testflight.apple.com/join/FdzFOLZv

It was a stupid mistake on my part, checking the refresh token for the word "demo". In the real world, that token is long, and could easily contain that string as well - which is what you're experiencing among a handful of others...

I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience!

Cheers,

Kim

Awesome!

The TestFlight link is universal - you can share it with as many as you'd like :-D it's just the public beta - always active, always contains the latest pre-release build. Keep in mind that the TestFlight will be bleeding edge, so might also contains bugs - but it's what I run myself, so at least it's in working condition at most times ;-)
