What has been done to verify the reliability of the clock on the arduino? Or are you just assuming that the small fluctuations are too small to matter?

Hi Jeff

In answer to your question, I have verified timing using measures similar
to Figure 4 of the Pulse Pal paper
http://journal.frontiersin.org/article/10.3389/fneng.2014.00043/abstract

  • pulse width measurement via oscilloscope. With each firmware update
exists the potential for changes, so the idea is to publish the first
    post-beta release with the stats.

Best,
Josh
