Splatoon 3 Layout Editor text panels not working

In the layout editor documentation it states that to work properly, you need to have the font file opened up in the toolbox. With splatoon 3 it needs a ".fcpx" file which toolbox doesnt seem to be able to open. (double clicking on .bfcpx files doesnt do anything) and so i'm unable to work with text. Is there anything i'm missing or is this just a bug

There are also BFCPX files for Super Mario Bros Wonder and it appears to be unable to open them.
