Label/Aliases for npubs with no set name

Problem example:
I know that Peter is posting using
npub1******************.

As Peter has not filled in a name, I only see the hard-to-recognize public key in postings. If several people whom I follow do that, it becomes really hard to distinguish them and that hampers following the conversations.

Request: let the user add names/aliases/labels locally for any npub they follow/have in their contacts.

I didn't understand in full, but aliases is always a good idea. This keep npub masked?
