Internal error: the hardware did not report that it stopped before the timeout elapsed

When pressing STOP at the end of the session, I had this issue a few times. In all cases but one, I could just click again and stop the session without problem. In one case (see attached), it resulted in non-saving of the .bin file and loss of logging data.

I had never observed this error before so I am not sure what could be the cause.
