Unable to update items with joins query

I am unable to update the item when using the joins.

select: (from) => from.select(`*, inventory(whole_count, unit_count)`),

when updating any field in the item i.e items$[item.id].barcode.set(item.barcode); i get following error.

I am also unable to create new items in supabase. Item is added in local storage but is not created on supabase.
