Opened by @r3pek:

Logitech released on Set 15th a firmware upgrade to the HERO sensor making it 25K capable. (https://blog.logitech.com/2020/09/15/logitech-g-introduces-hero-25k-sensor-the-industrys-highest-performing-dpi-offering/)

Will this firmware upgrade be distributed via LVFS? Thanks.

I think this was just marketing, the HERO sensor has always been able to do 25k DPI, you should be able to configure this in libratbag. This was hidden in the Windows software but libratbag allows you to configure the max dpi reported by the device. All mice with the HERO sensor I have tested allow this, so if this was indeed enabled with a firmware upgrade, it wasn't recent.
