Hi - it looks like the results for Michigan's US House District 008 are missing from the Midland County results. This is causing ~ 10% of missing votes from the overall district 008 race vote totals.

Looking at the website results, we'd expect about 37,000 votes from Midland county in this contest, but this contest only appears to have results in Tuscola, Bay, Saginaw, and Genesee County.

Please let me know if I'm missing anything as well! Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the report!

It looks like I actually made a typo in the readme. Where it said "The major party candidates' vote totals in the Governor and US House races are all within 1% of their state- or district-wide totals except in district 7, where a few thousand votes are missing for both parties", it should have said "district 8". It looks like district 7 is correct.

I believe that the great people we sourced the data from, Open Elections, have updated their Michigan data substantially over here, since I last updated our Michigan offerings. They also quickly responded to a request I made of them to include the distinguishing information that's currently causing duplicated or nearly duplicated rows in our dataset, due to lacking distinguishing information in someprecinct names. I have it near the top of my to-do list to update Michigan using their data, and I'm hoping to do it early next month, but with this comment I'll try to kick it higher up the list and I'll update you when I do.

Thanks for the quick response!! That makes sense - district 7 looks great in our data. I'll take a look over at the Open Elections dataset until y'all get a chance to make the change. Really appreciate it!!
