Experimental Unit vs Observation Unit #20

I think that it could be useful to introduce the difference between experimental vs observation unit, as:

experimental unit = The unit to which the treatment (experimental factor) is applied.
observation unit = The unit on which the response (observed variable) is measured. This may not be the same as the experimental unit.

I am not an expert in plant research, so this is just an idea.
Feel free to close the issue if it is not a good idea.
