v2.9

Mojang decided to release a pre-release and a release candidate for 1.19.1 while I wasn't looking, so here's a new version of the pack that doesn't include any of the bugfixes that are now in the vanilla game.

This release includes two downloads, depending on the version of MC that you're playing: the only difference is that the download for 1.19.1-pre1 includes a fix for MC-253223, which is no longer necessary in 1.19.1-rc1.

v2.8

This release fixes five bugs with the new Chat Reporting feature from 22w24a:

This release happens to be 10 days late (relative to the snapshot coming out), so all but one of these bugs have been fixed in 1.19.1-pre1 or 1.19.1-rc1. For this reason, if you're playing the latest snapshot, you should wait for v2.9. On the other hand, if you're still playing 22w24a, this is the release for you!

v2.7

Be ready for 1.19 Pre-release 5! This release fixes one bug:

  • MC-252408 - Chat restriction strings consist of inconsistent concluding punctuation

This is a new bug caused by an updated translation string in pre5, so updating isn't necessary if you're sticking with pre4.

To install: Download the file named "Capitalisation-Fixes" from the Assets below and place it in Minecraft's resourcepacks folder.

This is the latest version available for 1.19 users. An additional rebranded zip file has been added to the release, but it is identical to the one for pre-release 5 (apart from an updated readme).

v2.6

The first pre-release for 1.19 fixed two bugs: MC-250932 and MC-249980. This release removes them from the pack, so if you haven't updated to the pre-releases then there's nothing new for you in this release.

In contrast to the small number of user-facing changes, there's been a big change in how this pack is developed. The actual source for the pack is in the fixes.ts file, and a homemade tool (written in TypeScript) converts it to an actual resource pack: that's what all the other .ts source files are for! This version is the first one to be built with the tool, which opens up some exciting possibilities in the future, such as supporting multiple MC versions with little extra work.

v2.5

This version brings the pack up-to date with the new features in 22w17a: namely Goat Horns (and their related subtitles).

It also finally removes the fixes for 1.17 advancement strings (MC-226430), which have been fixed in vanilla since 22w15a.

v2.4

14 Apr 10:26

Now with 16% less bugfixes and 13% less fixed translation strings!

  • 22w15a decided to fix some issues with advancemnet description/name capitalisation, so those fixes have been removed
  • Added fixes for MC-250158 (New in 22w15a!) and MC-226454
  • MC-249980 is now actually fixed
  • Improved the README again

v2.3

08 Apr 12:11

A new bug has appeared! MC-250025 (The "You Got a Friend in Me" advancement is incorrectly presented in the past tense) is exclusive to 22w14a, so there's nothing new for other folks.

The bug report was only created an hour ago and it already has an assignee, so I don't expect this fix to stay in the pack for very long. Grab it while it's still relevant!

v2.2

This is the update that 22w14a users have been waiting for. (Not for too long, I hope.)

  • Removed fix for MC-249422 (subtitles for the Warden's body parts), as it has just been fixed upstream
  • Added a fix for MC-249980 (Birthday Song advancement description), which refrences a "note block" without capitalising it. This was one of my own bug reports.

In other news, the fixed strings list in the README looks nicer now.

v2.0 Compatibility Edition

07 Apr 11:51

This is a special, one-off release that supports 1.18.2 (and all the snapshots/releases in the 1.18.x branch). You can now enjoy fixed capitalisation in the current release version of Minecraft. Have fun!

1.18 won't recieve any future feature updates: all development is focused on the 1.19 snapshot series.

v2.1

This update introduces one new bugfix: MC-249422 ("Some subtitles relating to the warden don't contain possessive apostrophes where appropriate")

MC-249422 is a new bug (from 22w12a). I was waiting for it to recieve a Mojang Priority before I added it to Capitalisation Fixes, as I wasn't sure myself if it was indeed a valid inconsistency bug. Note that the fact that the bug only occurs in 22w12a means that if you're using 22w11a, there's no need to update.

This version also adds a new feature to the compatibility table in the readme: recommended versons. This tells you what the ideal version of the resource pack is for each Minecraft version.
