What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Initial remote radio joins or leaves the network
2. Power on or power off the remote radio

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
1. Error (Status) LED flashes 2X for .5 sec.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.  Arduino Uno R3_2, Xbee Series 2

Please provide any additional information below.

The remote radio requires up to ten seconds to acquire and join the network.
During this time, the local radio may not provide a TXStatusResponse as it is
busy with network operations. Recommend the following change:

 // after sending a tx request, we expect a status response

  // wait up to ten seconds for the status response. This delay compensates for the network join time.

  if (xbee.readPacket(10000)) {

    // got a response!
