Question: Good USB-to-serial adapters

In another issue there was discussion about USB-to-serial adapters. I thought it might be helpful to collect confirmed working adapters into this dedicated issue for future reference.

So far, this adapter has been mentioned as working in the above issue: Amazon link

If you’ve tested other USB-to-serial adapters and can confirm they work (or don’t), please share their details.

I did order those from amazon and seems like they have these pins: DTR, RX, TX, VCC, CTS, GND. So the automatic reset seems not to work and the ESPtool is stuck on connecting.

Edit: Found out that the RTS pin is on the side of the board, but the ESPtool is still stuck on connecting.

Edit 2: Seems like its working now, took forever to connect and prepare.

For someone in Switzerland, I used this one: https://www.berrybase.ch/en/converter-usb-type-a-plug-uart-ft232 and worked quite well. (You have to solder one pin) As with JTorkk, I had to attempt the connection several times, and it took forever looking at the Connect button. A tip to avoid multiple flashing, make sure you have single core configured in the initial image.

I have successfully flashed the board with this two:

Red: T232RL (FTDI) USB-to-TTL serial (easiest)
Blue: CH340 USB-to-TTL serial adapter module

The red is the easiest since you don't need to figure out the jumpers.
