Safari Cross-origin issue with cached tiles

I'm trying the demo (http://mazemap.github.io/Leaflet.TileLayer.PouchDBCached/demo.html) on Safari 10.0.3 and on Safari iOS 10+ and both give the error:

Cross-origin image load denied by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy.

whenever it loads a tile from cache. Is there a workaround or fix?

I haven't found a fix yet but after doing some googling I found:

Will this library just not be compatible with Safari?
