[Suggestion] Some Probe GUI Box Setting Changes #613
Comments
Well you can configure the position already. Using the in game config you can set it on a few presets (use /top config) but in the client configs you can put it anywhere. Also the default is not the center of the screen. The default is the top center. If it is in the center then your modpack configured it that way or something |
There seems to be a misunderstanding. I'm talking about the mod's own built in configuration GUI. It allows you to quickly switch between 9 preset positions, 1 at each corner, 1 at each side, and 1 dead center of the screen. I'm merely suggesting either moving the center preset position to be offset somewhat, or adding another preset that is properly offset for ease of play of those who are using it like WAILA (as in, sans probe item). |
Ah like that. Well the in game config is just a quick thing to have some easy presets. I actually don't expect anyone using the center one |
Alternatively, would it be possible to add another option to base the position off of the crosshair, instead of the sides? Basing it on the sides means you have to restrict yourself to a set aspect ratio if you're using it in the way I've described. Basing it on the crosshair would make it really easy to resize the screen or distribute modpacks with such a configuration pre-arranged, like WAILA could (although, WAILA's implementation was to base position off of percent or permille of screen width and height, instead of strict pixel values, IIRC). |
I might but I have a ton of work on my other mods so this is a bit low priority. Also for what version would you want this? I only work on 1.18.2 and higher |
Personally, I'm playing on 1.19.2, but I'm only stating it as a request to be added in for future updates, since it works well enough as is. |
When using the in game shift-rightclick menu, clicking in the center puts the window in the dead center of the screen. This is inconvenient for working, as it obviously blocks what you're directly pointing at. I'd like to suggest that it defaults to being offset from the center, down and to the right just far enough that the window doesn't cover the crosshair or the immediate 10-15px around it, even when larger more complicated items are viewed.
