Your Question

I would like to know what exact location the safe pulls its gui resource from for the purpose of customizing it with optifine.

Detail

I don't think the safe has its own custom file, meaning it uses the shulker gui, which can't be customized with optifine features separately for 2 GUI elements. It's one or the other. It'd be nice to know for sure though.

Thanks.

It uses the standard chest 3x9 that chests, shulkers and barrels use. If you want to customize those you can use polytone gui modifier sprites

That means these are incompatible with resource packs, which makes them purple if they have polytone or manually done menus for shulkers. Do you know if it's possible to use optifine to specify the container ID like how shulkers work?

please dont ask about optifine here

Again, optifine is not what I asked about. Optifine just so happens to be the standardized format for ALL entity feature related mods/resource packs.

Optifine is in no way being used lmao.

Here's an example:
The resource pack I am building off of uses assets\minecraft\optifine\gui to give shulkers color-coded GUIs. I feel like this should be something mod authors know about, but I've had to repeatedly explain that it's a file format, not the Optifine mod. It's just the most common format for things to be in so EMF and ETF utilize it officially.

So I repeat my question: how can the safe be customized given that it pulls from the shulker GUI? Or does it. You said that file can be customized, but I'm not sure it can given the optifine file format that assigns specific pngs to specific containers. Like above purple safe GUI, which tipped me off that the safe isn't using its own PNG file, and since I've retextured every other supps GUI I know that it has no dedicated file to reference.

This is sort of a yes/no as to whether or not it can be customized using EMF/ETF.

And again, optifine is just the literal folder name for this to work with any ETF mod. This is not asking about capital O Optifine. If you can't tell I'm tired of explaining this to people.
