Pre-release amendments and fixes
Engineering Release - [Mellanox/hw-mgmt] HW-Mgmt-Pkg V2.0.0090 based on V2.0.0080.
It includes the changes in kernel patches, listed below. No changes in user space
code.
- Patches 0027 and 0028 are swapped, according to their appearance in
development and upstream branches. - Patch 0030 removes workaround for 128 maximum port number and utilize
the upstream code instead, where we use generic query_resource command
for getting maximum port number, supported by chip.
It also contains the fix in hwmon for spider port 56 (it has been
missed and exposed only 55). - Patch 0031 – remove unused config for MLXSW_PCI (switch-dev PCI).
This config has been allowed in configuration kernel by mistake.
There is no spectrum driver, which uses PCI bus. And with the latest
switch-dev core code PCI driver just fails compilation. And we don’t
need an effort to support unused code from kernel v5.0 in kernel v4.9.
Known issue:
1 No reload of hw-management while other applications are reloaded.
It likely causes I2C transaction failures during chip reset over PCI
(not a degradation – issue observed on different system with old version old
hw-management package).
2 I2C bus not stable on SPC2 based systems (Anaconda), when full
thermal control is running. Suspect that a rout cause is issue above (1).
3 Slow access for show all the devices in sysfs.
