Firmware #1
Comments
I will open UI changes in the near future, but not the core source code. Because once I open, other manufacturers will copy me and compete with me at a low price. Our team itself is not strong。 |
I can guarantee that the screen firmware will be open source, but it will take a while. I hope you understand that |
any news on the open source firmware ? |
I am wondering too, as in its current state there are lots of usability and layout issues. For one, it seems to struggle to read what the Duet is actually doing....displaying info that doesn't align with Duet Web Interface. This makes the screen far from usable day to day. And yes, @FLYmaker , I have updated the firmware on both the 4.3" and the 7"....the one issue of overlapping screens has been resolved, but the usability is nowhere near what I expected when ordering this. |
I would also be interested in the code as it's not really useable at this point. |
Making this open source and just allowing people to create their own UI's
would make these screens INCREDIBLY popular, as there is no product on the
market right now that allows us to do this. You would sell A LOT more if
you were to go that route!

@Blade765 They are not making the screen, they just make the software from their perspective it doesn't make sense open the Software. |
HEY! I was mistaken that this was a WORKING product too. They sent me a 7" screen with the 5V and Input wires reversed in the cable. I plugged it in and it fried my 5V circuit and rendered the board useless. They are unwilling to replace the board that fried due to their lack of quality control on the wires. BUYERS BEWARE: THIS IS NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT. I have submitted disputes with AliExpress after attempting to work with the seller directly, but when I cant provide EVIDENCE that plugging in their display to my board that had been working, DAILY for 18 months, they are unwilling to provide any help. What am I supposed to submit? A video on the board no longer functioning?!?!? @FLYmaker I had high hopes for this product and am left EXTREMELY disappointed. |
I asked you to confirm if the 5V output is broken. Didn’t you say there is no broken? |
If everyone says that the motherboard is damaged because of the wiring sequence for no reason, do we have to compensate him with a motherboard? |
Have you ever considered why only the motherboard is damaged, but the screen is not damaged? |
I was never given the opportunity to confirm that. Your customer service team and yourself refused to offer any sort of concessions for my piss poor experience and the damage to my board. I then went directly to AliExpress to dispute. Unfortunately, there’s no way to prove that your product caused this issue, even though it’s the only thing CHANGED ON THE PRINTER IN 18 MONTHS. I have now also left poor reviews of your products on Ali as well as in other sites and groups where I’ve seen them mentioned. This will continue until my board is replaced or you are no longer selling this incomplete and unusable product. If something doesn't work out of the box or causes issues, replace it and provide a solution to the issues your product and the lack of quality control caused, period. |
That’s not my job. You’re the seller of an INFERIOR PRODUCT that caused this issue. Own your mistakes or get out of this business. Period. |
According to what you said, how do you prove that the quality of our products is a problem? |
The fact that PLUGGING IT IN FRIED MY BOARD. Want me to prove it? Unfortunately I can’t because IT FRIED THE BOARD WHEN PLUGGED IN. Want a video of the display not turning on and the board smoking? I can’t. Because the first time I plugged it in, IT FRIED THE BOARD. I explained that this was a hardware issue caused by poor quality control. Reversed wires in the wiring harness. I thoroughly regret attempting to support your brand. This experience has been the one of the worst I have ever had. Own your company’s short falls and admit that this is a beta product at best. |
It was advertised as open source. That was the main selling point that
convinced me to buy it. As well as the promise that it supports Duet
firmware. (that last one is only sort of true, it does not offer an
efficient way to use the screen with Duets)

I've found the original IDE for this screen sadly it is just in Chinese so
it is of no use anyway. We're stuck with the Software for now.
I was thinking about using a Nextion 7" which i have lying around here and
make my own GUI before ordering this one but i've mistaken the FLYscreen
with a finished product and not something like this.

We will indeed open source, but we have not promoted that he is currently open source. Where did you see it? |
..so, its now the start of 2024 - has this been open sourced yet? |
@FrankHovis @FLYmaker It doesn't seem like it. |
Ah well, another fly by night company that can't hold its promises. There's far too many of these sellers offering zero support. I guess I need to look elsewhere for a manufacturer who doesn't lie and sell unusable products. |
Hi i am really interested in you touch screen especially in 7 inch one but I would like to know that if the firmware is opensource or not it would be great if you could make it open source so all makers would be able to enhance it and we could also make our custom UI
Thanks in advance
