simple and cute, but I vaguely recall that for something to count as French, it needs to have a French file name.
so README becomes LISEZ-MOI ... spanish would be LEEME ? German LeseMich ? I guess...
but it does not change the fact that we really should have a LISEZ-MOI.rst

LISEZ-MOI.md could be symlinked to README.fr-ca or vice versa?

we can just name the files whatever we want and create our own badges.

French/Français
