This document is no longer useful for all the open source alternatives; they all depend on Logstash and the deprecated Logstash plugin logstash-input-azure_blob_storage. Note that the actual documented Logstash plugin logstash-input-azureblob fails to install because it uses a deprecated version M$'s own azure ruby gem.
The instructions are specific to a very old version of Elasticsearch (5.2.0) which fails to start with a current JDK owing to removed JVM options. Installing the latest Elasticsearch (8.12 as of this writing) no longer works with the logstash-input-azure_blob_storage per [issue #44](janmg/logstash-input-azure_blob_storage#44. The author is working on a golang solution but that isn't ready.
