Pretty Easy Privacy (http://pep-project.org/) aims to make pgp work automatically.
Keys and Smime certificates are discovered and used without the user having to do anything.
They also add a new way to check fingerprints by matching the original fingerprint to dictionary words that one can easily compare over the phone for example (https://xkcd.com/936/)

but do they "have agreed (to some degree) to be a part of this working group and work towards improving the usability across the PGP eco-system"? it's the one criteria to be part of the list.
