Small quality of life improvement needed at least in the current state of Blender 4.4 alpha, the meshswap object sources are all visible in the scene even though the toplevel "Spawner Exclude" collection is in fact excluded. We effectively need to manually disable the children while the root is excluded (though interestingly, re-enabling the parent collection makes the child collection exclude status be linked, which was the behavior in older Blender versions). Demo is worth a thousand words, the start of this video is right after meshswapping for the first time has completed:

...apparently this has been happening since Blender 4.0, so it's not really a new issue. But it was working the way I've described up above in 3.x I found. Perhaps it would be better hide_render the meshswap collection rather than exclude, but then the toggle setting is not in the default view which makes it harder to find.
