doesn't work for Safari 5.1.7 on Windows 7

Most Awesome of Dudes,

I've got a server & webpage using your most excellent library. It works in chrome, firefox, and internet explorer, and Safari on the mac - but it doesn't work in Safari on windows. Nothing is written to the websocket from the server, and nothing seems to be written to the server from the webpage. The only difference in logs between this run and one of the others is this:

I will proceed to investigate, hopefully eventually providing a working pull request.
