  • I am using the latest version of App Manager (F-Droid)
  • I have searched the issues and haven't found anything relevant
  • I have read the docs

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I've many apps and live the life at limit, so I might occasionally loose all my data. Due to this, I've to do many backups manually from time to time, but I'd like to do this automatically.

Describe the solution you'd like
Just add an option to auto-backup selected apps in a list, how often should it be, etc.

Describe alternatives you've considered
By now, I'm just using LOS 17.1 default backup utility, which for some unknown reason to me it doesn't backup all apps (Edit: I read that some apps do not allow back ups, but fortunately AM does not care 😄)

Same for me. I am still using Titanium Backup but it is growing stale, it can no longer restore some modern compound packages, etc.
so once a day I try to remember to click on redoing backups where the data or APK changed since last backup. If I could schedule it internally, or even better trigger it from Tasker (or any other AppMan action) it would be perfect. al.so an option to keep 2-3-n last backups and not just the latest one and have the oldest be removed when creating a new one would cover the backup features to 90%, it would be perfect.

You can add the required apps in a profile, enable backups there and configure Tasker/Automation to execute it. This is better than backing them up directly because you don't actually need to backup all the apps.

OK, I'll try that out and write a howto for the next noob who asks :)

Well, I would only like to update that I still haven't found a way to trigger a backup from tasker.
The appmanager does not seem to be exposing an API for that, so Tasker can't call any backup actions, let alone refresh only outdated backups like I wanted. I still have to click the 1-click backup, ask for a refresh backup, wait 4-5 minutes till it gives me a list to approve (must not switch apps or let the screen lock or it will stop preparing the list), approve, approve what to back up (no longer a 1-click operation, eh?) and finally the backup will run.

I still want a way to schedule this.
