I have a small issue. At current moment Im using MPD directly with Alsa and hardware controlled volume.
Im controlling and using a remote app from ios device to play/paus, change music and change volume.
I would like to adjust the balance between my 2-channel stereo setup (front left and front right).
If I control this directly from alsamixer it work with q/z and e/c to control individual volume for each channel for my output while the up and down arrow works as a master volume and keeps the balance between the channels.
This is great and exactly what I want to do.
But how can I keep the balance between the channels fixed while Im using my remote app which probably works through mpc? As soon as I change the volume from the ios app both channels gets the same output volume. I can understand why this is so, but is there any workaround? Since I want to have a bitperfect out put I would rather not install any additional plugins, etc.
Can I somehow lock the balance in alsa or can I configure mpd/mpc to keep the level difference as it is and just change the master volume?
