The users like to define their own layout and column sizes with user table views. (It's funny that the sizes have no effect in the UI with system tables) When the system table gets updated by MxUpdate then the derived user tables are screwed up, sizings are lost, ordered column are shuffled.

The reason for it: MxUpdate deletes all columns and makes then all new. So the references on the user tables are gone.
