Can't gather Red Rock

The top layers are showing that they are from extrabiomes whenever i hover over them with waila, but further down, where the stone layer for normal minecraft would be, the red rock's name shows as one word and waila says that it has been added by quadrum and that the harvest level is iron. And, as the title suggests, even if i break it with a stone pickaxe that says the block is harvestable, it doesn't drop Red Cobblestone. Is this an issue other people have had? and if so, is there a solution?
EDIT: I am using the 1.7.10 version on the curse launcher, and it says it's from 2016. is there a more recent version that i'm not finding on the launcher?
