CCPP v7 public release

The CCPP v7 public release is planned for June 2024. This release will include updated physics schemes and suites to be determined with input from the CCPP Physics code management group, updates of the CCPP Framework, and improved/new functionalities of the CCPP SCM (Single Column Model) such as the initialization and forcing from UFS results, the suite simulator, and running physics in single precision.

All suggestions, comments and questions related to this release are welcome!

Some of the major new SCM capabilities planned for this release are:

• Suite simulator
• Replay (ability to initialize and force from UFS files)
• Build system using spack-stack

It is premature to plan a release with the next generation CCPP Framework (aka capgen) at this time. That is a plan for a future release

We are putting the final touches on the release and anticipate it will be ready in July. Coming soon! Sorry for the delay.
