can't add variant-[increases expression of]->gene

I'm writing a question that goes

(covid)-(gene)

Now I want to add a variant that increases expression of the gene. I add an edge, and it starts out pointing gene to sequence variant. When I reverse it, I get this:

The target no longer has a type, it just says "1"

There are no predicates to choose from.
