When I set the plot axis dimensions
Then I want a hint about what I should set them to

( I want the minimum, maximum and optimal value of the metric to be included in the netcdf metadata. )

From a meeting earlier today.

This info is available in the protobufs, which is in turn used by all writers.

However, netcdf is slightly different than other formats insofar as the structure needs to be instantiated upfront, so it will need to be supplied upfront like the metric names and features, I guess (can't just wait for statistics to arrive, which have all the info.).
