<p>School of General Education was founded in June 2001, and is one of the schools in the Northeastern University. It is located in the southeast of Shenyang city, being six kilometers from the Northeastern University. The campus of the school covers 330 acres and the teaching building, laboratory building, dining hall, students' department and the stuff's department is about 140000 square meter . The library keeps in store about 400000 books. There are about 3000 students in the school and the stuff is more than 200.

The school of General Education is mainly in charge of the teaching administration, student cultivation and the logistics of the freshmen in the university. There are the following office established in the school ; Administrative Office ,Teaching Administrative Office, Student Affairs Office , Logistics Office and the Logistic Service Office and also the offices which are directly administrated by the university; the safeguarding office, the retirement affairs office, the library and the clinic.

According to the aim of the university , the school takes the aim of cultivating the students who have a broad sense of basic knowledge, a vigorously creative awareness and the ability of self-studying and self-researching and pay much attention to the basic status of the undergraduate education. On the administration of the teaching, we strengthen the study of the basis by variety of disciplines and cultivate the ability of self-studying. On the administration of the student affairs, we cultivate the students with the sense of research and carry the quality-oriented education. Thus we acquire a certain characteristic of the teaching administration and the students cultivation.

<p>
Nowadays, the whole school takes "thinking stabled, thoughts considered, management strengthened and quality height-ened" as the guiding principle. We are trying to be creative in the teaching administration, the students' cultivation and the logistics service. We are trying our best to cultivate the students who have the broad and deep basis of knowledge, the ability of comprehension, and the good character, and to make the university an excellent one of national and international recognition.
