series_name strips The from the title, anyway to get this back

I'm rather new to beets, but have been looking at all the documentation I can find, but it seems like this plugin strips the from the series name, is this correct ?

Is there anyway to get it back,?
I'm trying to get my naming scheme to match calibre

I quick looked over the code, I don't think series name is altered. Have you looked at the audible.com page to check if they have the "The" in the series name there?

You can use beets edit or modify to tweak the series name after you run this plugin.

You are correct.
I did check audible.com previously, and it did list it in big The Vampires of Shadow Hills. The other file I checked with, was of course from the same series (stupid mistake :))
now as i checked again, in the buttom right corner it just said vampires of shadow hills, so you are correct that was the problem.

I saw your change to track numbers and implemented it, thank you for that.

I need to add the, the plugin to the series name, but I can't get it correct (can't escape %the correct at %ifdef(series_name))

If the series_name doesn't have a "The" then the The Plugin isn't going to do anything for you.

I've never used that plugin, so I can't provide any support.

If you want to alter the series_name value in the beets database and metadata tags, then you need to look at beets edit or beets modify

First off, thank you for the answer :)

I'm aware it does not have the, I'm just looking to implement it for when a series does have the in the name, I'm testing with a series that does have the in the name.

(sorry for the miscommunication)

all i wanna do is move the to the end of the series name and the plugin should do the that with the %the function, my problem is I need to put it in front of another function.
I cant find the right syntax

You need to update the value of the series_name, not try and put "the" in your path statement

beet modify series_name="New Series Name" album:"Book Title"

Then the 'The Plugin' can alter the path format for you.

I got it working with the, the plugin.

the:
