Part of our team at the CaliforniaDataCollaborative.com have been working on a feasibility study for the water data integration proposed by AB 1775 and right in line with this New California Water Atlas. So would love to collab and make it part of this if possible:
Inventory of datasets to be integrated per AB 1775 (3/16/2016)
Developed by the California Data Collaborative
(b) The water information accounting system shall, at a minimum, do all of the following:
(1) Integrate existing water data information from multiple autonomous databases managed by federal, state, and local agencies and academia using consistent and standardized formats.
(2) Integrate, at a minimum, the following datasets:
(A) The [Department of Water Resources’] information on
State Water Project reservoir operations http://www.water.ca.gov/swp/operationscontrol/monthly.cfm
Format: Monthly PDF file
groundwater use
TBD
groundwater levels through California Statewide Groundwater Elevation Monitoring (CASGEM) http://www.water.ca.gov/groundwater/casgem/online_system.cfm
Online portal with more detailed data than the water data library. Shows charts of groundwater elevation over time.
Format: downloadable CSV by County, Basin,Monitoring Entity, or well type
http://www.water.ca.gov/waterdatalibrary/groundwater/index_new.cfm
Data showing water level in individual wells. Seems to be a subset of data available in CASGEM portal
Format: direct CSV download by county or groundwater basin
Update March 31 - Link to comprehensive data dump

fish abundance and distribution. http://www.dfg.ca.gov/biogeodata/bios/dataset_index.asp
Couple hundred GIS datasets with 764 references to “fish” in dataset titles
(D) The United States Geological Survey’s stream flow streamflow conditions information usgs through the National Water Information System.
