Related to https://github.com/NewGraphEnvironment/mybookdown-template/issues/3 now that this is dealt with in pagedown

Issue is related to the passing of the kable to kableExtra.

haozhu233/kableExtra#831 may provide clues to why in what dmurdoch says "because kable produces a markdown table, and kable_styling can't recognize the existing label in it"

confirmed that it is indeed a kableExtra thing as kable on its own works
