Environment

  • Application version: n/a
  • Operating system: macOS
  • Issue occurrency: always

Expected behaviour

The documented installation process via Homebrew works.

Current behaviour

Homebrew tap homebrew/cask-drivers can't be used since it got deprecated in favor of homebrew/cask quite a while ago.

Steps for reproduction

% brew tap homebrew/cask-drivers
Error: homebrew/cask-drivers was deprecated. This tap is now empty and all its contents were either deleted or migrated.

Solution

  • Migrate cask to stock/built-in "tap".
  • Update documentation (drop brew tap statement)

In my opinion, this projects links false atm.
Same for the release for Linux and windows.
Okay, Windows is not important for me.

v1.5-RC8 is from 4 Sept. 2021
v1.5-RC9 is from 30 apr 2022

This macOS Page is out of date and only link to Linux only download from 20 Aug 2020. The Links on the paget link to a forum post opened 1 Nov 2019 " Failed install on macos Catalina ".
Last post on 8.November 2019.

In my opinion it's absolute important to link to the new Nitrokey-App2 ( https://github.com/Nitrokey/nitrokey-app2) and rewrite the documentation on the Homepage and fix the links in the documentation.
In this release, the latest one is from 24 Sept 2024

IMO there should be DMGs for X86 and Apple Silicon as well.

All the best

I forget to mention that I allready know the right place:
https://docs.nitrokey.com/software/nitropy/all-platforms/installation#installation-on-other-distributions-operating-systems
But the old links should be fixed
