Doubling the VOC emissions in the full chemistry version of NorESM

The CMIP6 piClim-2xVOC NorESM2-LM run (doubling of VOC emissions) was modified by

on line 1019 in NorESM/components/cam/src/chemistry/mozart/chemistry.F90 :

cam_in%cflx(i,megan_indices_map(n)) = cam_in%cflx(i,megan_indices_map(n)) + megflx(i)

we added a line:

cam_in%cflx(i,megan_indices_map(n)) = cam_in%cflx(i,megan_indices_map(n)) + megflx(i)
cam_in%cflx(i,megan_indices_map(n)) = 2.0_r8*cam_in%cflx(i,megan_indices_map(n))

Simo, I suggest you create a case using:

• NF1850norbc compset
• f19_f19 resolution
• for the aerosol output you can have a look here: https://noresm-docs.readthedocs.io/en/noresm2/output/aerosol_output.html
• and I've copied the restart files from 1750 here: /cluster/shared/noresm/NorESMWS2023/ (I didn't have write permissions to the WORKSHOP folder...)

We can discuss further int his thread, and please let us know if something is unclear, if the model fails or crashes. I suggest you start with 5 years (so you are ready for the diagnostics exercise on next Monday) and then you can run longer if the output is what you want
