Never tried NixOS (yet), but I don't think there are specific issues with the script as long as you install the required packages.
If you or anyone wants to contribute, you can try installing the listed required packages (NixOS equivalent) and running the script.
If there are any issues report it there. Also, if anything works fine, adding instructions for Nix would be nice

I'm not trying it myself before next month since I don't have enough time to do that
