可以想像我們用兩條水平線夾住凸包，接著連續的絲滑的旋轉凸包並且讓水平線緊靠著凸包，在這個過程中兩條水平線最遠的距離便是所有凸包的邊界上的點兩兩之間最遠的距離（一個向量的長度等於他在所有角度的投影長當中的最大值，有點最大值of最大值的感覺），而旋轉卡尺就是在模擬這個過程 |
