MusicHall

Artwork design and performances by Alex Cecchetti
Technical concept by Luca Morino and Francesco Cretti
Current version installed at VOID Gallery, Derry, Northern Ireland
August 2018

Equipment:

  • Arduino Uno
  • at least 2x MB1260 XL-MaxSonar-EZL0
  • Raspberry Pi with PureData
  • Audio speakers

Set-up:

  • Connect sonar to Arduino (follow data sheet instructions)
  • Download and install MusicHall Arduino sketch
  • Download PureData patch and open it on Raspberry side
  • Connect Arduino to Raspberry with USB cable
  • Connect audio speaker to Raspberry built-in analog audio outlet
  • From PureData patch, find out correct USB port where Arduino is connected using the devices object and put in the open object
  • Hit the open object
  • Hit the tgl object connected to pd dsp $1 message to enable audio computing
  • Have fun!
