So, there are zip packages, On Ubuntu as i download the Ubuntu24 zip and extract it there are two .deb files (also confusing, what is that Python one?) either case the debs don't do anything when opening on App Center. Just endless "loading" (?)
Then there is no Flatpak. There is no Snap. Why is this made so hard to even understand? I know there are ways to build from source and what else but i'm not up for that (and i'm sure many more, just too cumbersome).
So, will there be a simple way to install Umu Launcher at some point?
Regards

If You install an app that uses umu-launcher(ex. lutris, faugus-launcher), it should be downloaded automatically unless You use niche obscure distro that doesn't provide it.
As noted -- umu is meant as a background cli tool for other applications. Some applications are already using it such as Lutris, Heroic, or Faugus launcher.
Some distributions are packaging it as a standalone tool as well. For that you would need to ask your distribution maintainers to package and provide it, or wait until it is officially on snap and/or flatpak as a standalone application (it currently is not).
