I had quite a few learners, who didn't understand how to get the "left"/'right" into the move function and got stuck trying "move(left)". And from the context I am not sure, whether it makes sense to do raw_input here, because it introduces two concepts at once time.
Either splitting this up or making more clear what "ask the user" means here, would be useful.

Maybe we can expand the wording to clarify, and add an example of what interaction in the console looks like to demonstrate.
