Line layer select - not zooming to selected features

I tried selecting features for the Poudre Basin Entities / Environment - Instream Flow Reaches layer to search for status of "Recommended". Features are selected on the map, but it seems to select the termini (a different layer) and not the line features, as shown in the following figure. Instead, the selected lines should be highlighted, such as in yellow. We previously discussed style for selection so hopefully that does not need to be revisited.
