Required login after restart / secret storage not persisted

After a restart, any previously logged in user must reauthenticate. I believe this is caused by the secret key being regenerated at each boot up (as seen in the log messages). Making the secret storage persistent across reboots sounds like the fix for this.

Any progress on this item? I'm willing to have a look myself in the code, if only I knew where to start...
