Digital signatures in MS Word *.docx files

Hi, is there any chance to have ability to work with digital signatures on Word docx files? To be able to check if file is digitally signed etc. ?

Hi, unfortunately I have no idea at all. Till now I was using Java for
digital signatures and now I have to work with MS Word docx documents. All
I know currently is that it is Open XML based, and there are good articles
on OpenXML Developer org (

So, major info is included into the docx, so if we got signature and
certificate we will be able to check not only if the file Is signed, but
validate signature as well.
Also, I do not know how programmatically access/read signature fields of MS
Word document. I can write some useful code and will be glad to publish if
I can read signature info from the signed file.
