Playback only works on Android devices. On all other systems you'll get that "unsupported browser" error.

Hi, can i ask what type of DRM are you using on Android for plugin.video.skyott ? In ISA (for Kodi Omega), there is better integration with embed DRM in operating systems itself. Maybe will be possible to support Windows too in the near future (playing SkyShowtime in Microsoft Edge on Windows is possible and supported).

Check: PlayReady 3 , ClearKey , FairPlay ... Roadmap of ISA.

Widevine.

But Widevine is supported on all platforms. Can't you just send Android User-Agent and other headers to the API and use Widevine installed in the Kodi (Level 3 only) ?

The addon already uses the Android User-Agent, but that's not enough. Apparently, SkyShowtime uses something called Verified Media Path (VMP), and only certified apps are allowed to play. Notice that SkyShowtime doesn't even allow to play on Linux.

However, I'm not an expert in this matter, so if anyone knows a way to enable playback on PCs, please let me know.

In version 0.7.0, playback should now also work on devices other than Android (up to 1080p). Tested on Linux, Windows, and macOS. Requires at least Kodi 21 and a recent version of inputstream.adaptive.
Please, let me know if it works for you.

On CoreELEC (Khadas VIM4/A311D2) it's working ;)
On LibreELEC (Sunvell T95Z Plus/S912) it's working too. If black screen is shown (LibreELEC issue with panfrost for mainline linux), stopping the video, then opening again 3 or 4 times can make the video and audio to work normally.
On Ubuntu 24.04 with Kodi 21.1 (Flatpak version) also works.

Close kodi and try again. Sometimes I get that error too.
